What I Do
Celebrating the arrival of a child into your family is a most cherished time. Whether it be celebrating the birth of a child, an adoption or step children into the family, a naming or welcoming ceremony can be a special time for family and friends to declare their commitment to the new family member.
More and more, families are choosing non-religious services in favour of a more highly personalised ceremony that reflects the family and their wishes. A naming ceremony does not usually take place in a religious setting. In fact it can take place almost anywhere…on the beach, in your garden, the local village hall…you get to choose!! Similarly, when you choose to hold your naming ceremony is also entirely up to you and definitely not limited to Sunday’s as Christening’s usually are.
A unique naming ceremony is just that…completely unique for you. I will help you to design a ceremony that celebrates the day in the most perfect way. Hopes and dreams can be shared. Songs can be sang. Stories and poems can be read. Promises and vows can be said. Godparents can be announced! The day can be as small and intimate or as loud and grand as you wish.

Initial meeting, usually face to face, where we can talk about your vision for the day. You may have lots of ideas or struggling to know where to start. Either way, I can help you to begin to sketch out what your perfect ceremony could look like.
Ongoing catch ups, by phone or email until you are happy with the ceremony we have designed.
Advice on choosing readings, songs, poems and tributes for your ceremony.
Attendance at your special day.
A presentation copy of your ceremony script & a signed certificate of your naming ceremony.
