What I Do
Your wedding day is as unique as your own special love story. Making a lifelong commitment in front of those who you hold dearest is a moment to cherish and you will want the occasion to reflect everything you dreamt it would be. Whether you are thinking big bash party, shore line beach vibes, small and intimate, grand castle romantic, or anything in between, your wedding is your day. My role in it is very simple. I help you to create the ceremony you wish for.
If you choose to use an Independent Celebrant to conduct your wedding ceremony, you can avoid many of the restrictions and limitations that a licensed venue and registrar can bring. On your most special day, why settle for the standard script all other couples get? A memorable ceremony should be one which reflects the two of you.
Independent Wedding celebrant vs Registrar
Well an Independent Wedding Celebrant and a Registrar are different and put simply that difference lies in the freedom a celebrant has to deliver a ceremony that is unique.
A Registrar will have to stick to the same rigid script that all couples get. You are unlikely to be able to choose your own special vows and neither can you include any spiritual or religious context. Your Registrar is likely to be conducting several weddings as well as yours on your special day and your 20 minute slot is likely to be your only contact on the day itself. You may not be able to meet your Registrar prior to your wedding and therefore little opportunity to go know you.
As your Independent Wedding Celebrant, I have the freedom to create pretty much what you want, in the way you want it! This starts with me getting to know the two of you (over a cuppa and maybe cake) and finding out what the ceremony of your dreams looks like to you. Pretty much anything goes (as long as it’s legal) and you get to choose how much or little if any, spiritual or religious content you want. We can even create a blend of religions and beliefs into the ceremony if that suits your union. This ceremony will reflect your beliefs and wishes and will be perfectly unique for you.
The wedding ceremony that I create for you will not be a legal marriage and it is important that you are aware of this. Most couples choose to do the legal part at any time that suits them at the registry office and then have the wedding ceremony at a date afterwards. The legal service at the registry office is fairly inexpensive but this varies a little dependent upon where you live and the service lasts a couple of minutes. Once this service is out of the way, you can get excited for the main event at your perfect venue, with your most special vows, in front of your most special person on the planet! I am happy to help you to be as creative as you like and if you are looking for a wow factor, consider it done.

Our initial meeting where we get to know each other, what makes you the wonderful couple you are, your love story! Of course, we also can talk through the type of ceremony you have imagined. And if your imaginations haven’t quite got that far and you want some inspiration, we can get creative!
Our second meeting which will take place once I have drafted your ceremony. I will read it through and we can work through your initial thoughts, make changes, tweak as necessary.
Contact with me throughout the process. Following our second meeting you may still have changes that you feel need to be made and that’s perfectly fine. I am on hand to discuss all of this with you over the phone or by email, whatever works for you really. I am also on hand to help with drafting of vows.
My attendance at your special day. I will only commit to your wedding on the day so you won’t be seeing me rush through the vow’s to make a swift exit! And of course, you get me to deliver the ceremony you dreamt of.
